The Stargus mode of action to control downy mildew, Botrytis and a broad range of diseases is two-fold:
- Once applied, Stargus actively acts as a plant-growth promoting microbe, stimulating plant defenses, and
- Stargus colonizes the plant tissue to out-compete pathogenic organisms trying to gain a foothold
